Mike McHugh

Mike is a 20-year veteran of higher education, working with both career-oriented and degree-granting institutions. With a background in marketing, Mike has built his career on helping schools identify growth opportunities, define strategic initiatives, and drive exceptional execution. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Premier Nursing Academy as well as Thruline Marketing, the parent company of Premier Nursing Academy. As a company, Thruline and Premier Nursing Academy are defining career enablement as a way to help people improve their work potential by making high-quality education more accessible and affordable.

A graduate of Emporia State University, Mike has served in a variety of leadership roles during his career, including starting multiple new divisions and launching international operations.  Under Mike’s leadership, the company has completed multiple rounds of private equity financing as well as over 20 acquisitions. These efforts are currently focused on identifying and investing in disruptive training models that address the affordability and accessibility of education, with an emphasis on skilled vocational jobs.

Outside of work, Mike is a big sports fan, craft beer enthusiast, avid podcast listener, and recreational Crossfitter.
