Susan Mitchell, RN
Sue began with Premier Nursing Academy – Bradenton in 2021. Before joining the team, she spent 23 years as a registered nurse in an ICU and helped open the first outpatient urgent care center for Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Though she retired from Sarasota Memorial, she didn’t leave the field and found employment in skilled nursing facilities, ultimately working in nursing and admissions director positions.
Her favorite word in the English language is “compassion,” and she believes her superpower would be instilling confidence in people. Sue brings this into her teaching by advocating for those who want to better themselves through education, and she finds it incredibly rewarding to help students achieve their goals. She loves to hear them say, “I’m proud of myself.”
Sue says the best piece of advice she ever got was from her dad, who told her to maintain her work ethic, remembering always to be thankful to have a job and give her work her best every day.
