CNA Training at Premier Nursing Academy
Our program provides a combination of classroom and on-site clinical education. This ensures that our graduates are both work ready to be successful in their careers as well as meet all state required training hours needed to sit for certified nursing assistant (CNA) exams.
Program Length and Schedule
Our CNA training program takes 6 weeks to complete. We currently offer three different class schedules. The days and hours (such as morning, afternoon, or evening schedules) vary by location. Explore class schedules for our Pinellas Park CNA classes or our Bradenton CNA classes.
Coursework and Clinical Hours
Depending on state requirements, our training varies on the amount of time spent in class versus in a clinical setting.
In each of our CNA courses, you can expect to learn:
- Basic nursing and personal care skills
- Safety and emergency procedures
- Mental health and social service needs
- Infection control
- Care of cognitively impaired residents
- Basic restorative care
- Rights of long-term care residents or patients
- Communication and interpersonal skills
Class Size and Learning Environment
Premier Nursing Academy offers small classes taught by experienced professionals. Our typical CNA classes range from 10 to 15 candidates, providing opportunity for an engaging and interactive learning environment with enough time for individualized instruction. All of our instructors are Licensed Practical Nurses or have completed advanced-level nursing education, allowing them to bring real-world experience into the classroom. Classes are all delivered in person, with time for hands-on instruction in patient care.
Graduation and Certification
At the conclusion of the training program, each candidate in good academic standing will be eligible to sit for a state-authorized CNA exam.
Upon successful passing of the CNA exam, our graduates are fully licensed and certified to perform the duties of a certified nursing assistant in any healthcare facility across the state where they completed their training. In addition, because Premier Nursing Academy is a state-approved training provider in all communities in which we operate, students of our training program are provisionally approved to start work as a CNA as soon as they’ve enrolled in our program and met their employer’s onboarding requirements, even prior to passing the CNA exam.

Employment for CNAs
Premier Nursing Academy provides CNA training for students hired for certified nursing assistant and patient care technician roles in a variety of healthcare settings. Our graduates are currently working in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living homes, and hospitals. Several of our employer partners seek CNAs to fill PCT and HHA roles.
About the CNA Exam
The exam is scored on a pass/fail basis, and candidates are typically notified of their results three to five days after taking the test. The cost of one exam is completely subsidized for Premier Nursing Academy graduates. If a graduate needs to retake the exam, it may be retaken up to three times at the candidate’s cost.
